What makes my house a home

Last week, in a moment of apparent insanity, I commented to Perfect Gray I would be participating in her Monday group blog (that would be today) on what makes a house a home.  The thing is, my home is currently a disaster both inside (new business!) and out (painters!). But after some diligent searching, I finally found a picture of what my dining room looked like before estate.

Let me say first, dining room, I miss you. Second, this space proves extremely conducive to getting stuff done with its big table, comfortable chairs, and amazing morning light. Third, I spend most of my day at this table with one of my laptops and a cup of coffee. And it is because of 2 & 3, and everything going on in my life, that right now I can barely see the floor or the table. But that's what makes this house my home (and luckily, no one else's.)

  2. well done, babe, and with such wit! your dining room is terrific and I can see why it would be the spot for your work and laptop AND dining. it's classy; just like you. thanks so much for participating. (and I would bet, if your other readers are like me they want to see more of your home...maybe after you get put back together...it would be a real treat for us...)

  8. Oh, love it! I don't use our home office either, prefer to be in the living or dining (or bedroom) to work.
