1888, Tuckahoe Gate, Southampton L.I.

I found this postcard-sized invitation to The Hampton Hunt a few years ago on ebay. Everything about it, from the toile ground to the handwritten scrawl, is amazing. Today I'm bringing it to be blown up {way up} and framed for Fall @ Post & Gray. {Is it too early to be thinking about Fall?} It will hang behind 2 tufted wing chairs getting reupholstered in this oh-so-soft wool herringbone from Ralph Lauren...

Cozy.

  1. I have a club chair and ottoman upholstered in the same RL fabric....It's my favorite piece in the room.
P.S. I love it just as much in the summer,(with faded pink batik pillow) as in the fall / winter!

  3. looks fantastic. would you consider detailing the blow-up process? I really want to do it with a handwritten card from grandmother, but I have no idea how to go about it...thanks!

    have a great weekend...donna

  4. Well, you probably will be able to check both off your inventory sheet pretty quickly! YUM to both!
and it is NOT too early to think Fall, maybe you could chase some of the sticky Chlt. weather away.

  5. Donna/Gray -- I have my work done @ Biggs Camera here in Charlotte, but a local digital reprographics firm should be able to handle what you've got in mind without any trouble at all. Let me know how it works out!

  6. I adore that post-card and the herringbone has always been one of my favorites, that and the hounsd-tooth or donegal tweed all seem to get along - famously!
show us when it is all done!
