This tiny cottage was featured in House Beautiful last year. I loved reading about it because I felt such kinship with its owner, who decorated it piecemeal, with a few good things from her parents and the rest coming from trips to Brimfield, London, Paris, the Dixie Highway, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, and a hundred little towns in between. Like me, the owner said she hadn't taken a vacation where she hadn't 'lugged some cumbersome painting or tchotchke home on the plane'. Her very clever eye shows in every inch of this crazy, wonderful 'beach shack'.

I saw this cottage too and I love every inch of it. I love how all things random makes the best style!

I totally see why you love it... it's completely charming. I adore the pops of yellow and all her one of a kind treasures. Thanks for sharing this Sweet Hamptons Cottage!

I love it, too! Your taste is excellent, as always. I think I saw somewhere that Stephen Gambrel did the interior - am I having a senior moment or can that be true?
ReplyDelete(BTW - I seem to have found a bedmaker who can do a bed very similar to your Ethan Allen masterpiece without a footboard and without requiring a full mortgage payment. Details on the blog soon!)
