Earlier this month, Professor Tyler Cowan {hereinafter, "
Smarty-pants"} blogged on
10 books that most influenced his world view, and encouraged others to do the same. Turned it into a bit of a smarty-competition. Smarty-pants is a professor of economics and his list - no surprise here - was full of very highbrow stuff. Required reading in most liberal arts circles. And when I was required to read them, I was not moved. No world view shaping here. {Just one girl's opinion.}
More recently, one of my favorite bloggers - Fancy and Folly - listed
her top ten reads. I loved them and her commentary as well. She also encouraged others to share their lists.
Share. What a nice, non-competitive word.
So with that, here's my list (minus the thoughtful commentary, because I'm just a bit lazy).
Anyone else care to share?
